Helen is our Principal Solicitor practising in Commercial Law including Leasing, Buying and Selling Businesses, Conveyancing, Property Law, Estate Planning including Wills, Powers of Attorney and Advanced Health Directives, Estate Administration, Banking and Finance Securities including Mortgages, Reverse Mortgages and Guarantees and Family Law.
Helen was born and has remained living in Maryborough, completing her senior schooling at Maryborough State High. Helen commenced her legal career as a Junior Clerk at a local law firm before progressing to a Paralegal. Helen completed her Bachelor of Laws with the University of New England at Armidale by correspondence whilst continuing to work locally. Her many years working as a Paralegal has provided Helen with an extensive background in all areas of law.
Helen completed her Supervised Traineeship under Aaron Suthers before being admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland on 31st January, 2011 and to the High Court on 2nd March, 2011.
Helen is a current member of the Queensland Law Society, Fraser Coast District Law Association and Treasurer of the Yoorana Women’s Refuge. She is also a volunteer to the Taylor Street Legal Service.
Angela Jeffery
Angela Jeffery is local to the area with extensive family connections in the community. Angela manages the firm’s Financial Records and manages the Commercial and Family Law department. Angela has 23 years experience working in the legal industry with a broad skill set working across many areas of law.
Brooke Robertson
Brooke is local to Maryborough and is involved extensively in netball within the region. Brooke has over 6 years experience working in law firms. Brooke is the firm’s receptionist and you will be greeted warmly by Brooke when telephoning or attending at our office. She is a talented legal secretary with vast experience across a broad range of legal areas.
Kate Thompson
Kate is well known in the Maryborough community through her makeup artistry business as well as the sporting community through her children. Kate is a local who started her legal career with a local firm before moving to the Sunshine Coast. She has over 16 years experience working in law firms in both Maryborough and the Sunshine Coast. After having time away from the legal fold Kate was eager to return to the legal industry and has joined the Conveyancing department. Kate is always eager to assist you with your property transaction.
Kate is a welcome addition to the office and we are sure you will agree that Kate’s infectious smile is just what is needed when visiting a law office.
Ally Reynolds
Ally has experience as a receptionist in the legal and automotive industry. She is a welcoming addition to our office with her happy and outgoing personality. Ally adds to the local knowledge already at LawFirst being local to Maryborough and actively involved in supporting and representing local sporting teams. She loves to play netball and has represented Maryborough in Regional, Country and State Carnivals. She has been an ambassador for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service in Maryborough and was the first to ever be presented with the Quota International of Maryborough Inc. award.
